Match Report: LA Galaxy Continue 2024 Preseason Preparation Against St. Louis CITY SC at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday Afternoon

LOS ANGELES (Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024) – Preparing for the 2024 MLS Regular Season Home Opener against Inter Miami CF on Sunday, Feb. 25, the LA Galaxy fell 2-1 to St. Louis CITY SC before 12,553 fans at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday afternoon.

2024 Coachella Valley Invitational
The Galaxy will head out to the desert for the 2024 Coachella Valley Invitational (CVI) from Feb. 4-17 at Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. LA squares off against Charlotte FC on Wednesday, Feb. 7 (11:00 a.m. PT), faces Austin FC on Sunday, Feb. 11 (10:00 a.m. PT), takes on New York City FC on Wednesday, Feb. 14 (12:00 p.m. PT) and will close out its time at Empire Polo Club against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, Feb. 17 (10:00 a.m. PT).

Goal-Scoring Plays
STL – Chris Durkin, 19th minute: A headed clearance from inside the box fell to Chris Durkin, whose half-volleyed from just outside the 18-yard box was fired in at the near post.

LA– Diego Fagundez (Mauricio Cuevas, Tucker Lepley), 55th minute: Tucker Lepley fed Mauricio Cuevas on the edge of the 18-yard box. Cuevas’ first-time cross into the box found Diego Fagundez, whose half-volleyed effort was buried into the back of the net.

STL - Nokkvi Thórisson (Aziel Jackson), 88th minute: Aziel Jackson’s slipped pass to behind the Galaxy defense was drilled into the far corner of the goal by Nokkvi Thórisson.
