The LA Galaxy scored five goals in a match for the first time since 2016 and secured a 5-2 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday night.

The match got off to a quick start with Kévin Cabral assisting Samuel Grandsir in the 12th minute of the match. Shortly after, the Galaxy were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box, which Javier "Chicharito" Hernández converted.

Víctor Vázquez kept the offense rolling in the first half with a neat shot from 23 yards out for his first goal of the season to make the score 3-0. Vancouver was able to counter, but Grandsir quickly responded for his first brace of the season to maintain a 3-goal Galaxy lead at halftime.

Vancouver looked to pressure the Galaxy in the second half with a goal in the 70th minute, but a red card awarded to Cristian Dájome saw them go down to 10 men shortly after. Efraín Álvarez sealed the 5-2 win with a late goal off an assist from Dejan Joveljić.
