LOS ANGELES (Friday, June 30, 2017)
– The LA Galaxy II (4-10-2, 15 points) ended the match in a draw on Thursday against the Tulsa Roughnecks(7-8-1 22 points) . On another cold night at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium the game ended in a 2-2 tie. After scoring two goals in the first half the Galaxy gave up two themselves in the second half.
The first half was completely dominated by the LA Galaxy. After back and forth chances for both teams in the first ten minutes of the game, the Galaxy’s two top goal scorers stepped up. A goal by Adrian Vera in the 20
th
minute was quickly followed by another one from Justin Dhillon in the 24
th
minute. These two players lead the team in goals, Justin Dhillon has six and Adrian Vera has notched 5 this season.
Swope Park Rangers controlled the start of the second half, forcing three corners and the Galaxy only able to force one. In the 63
rd
minute, Swope Park subbed in Nansel Selbol and found instant success from their forward. Selbol scored in the 64
th
minute and had another shot on goal in the 66
th
It wasn’t until the 84
th
minute that the Galaxy had a true chance to equalize with some good forward play from midfielder Adrian Vera. LA Galaxy II were unable to find a game-tying goal late in the second half as the visitors held on for the victory.
The second half was a completely different story from the first. Tulsa scored in the 62’ minute off of a designed set piece from head coach David Vaudreuil, finshed off by Defender Modou Jadama. The momentum from Tulsa’s first goal spurred there second one as Forward Ian Svantesson put in another in the 71
st
minute. Neither team could put together much offense after this and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
