LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Wednesday, May 10, 2017) – LA Galaxy II (1-5-1, 4 points) fell 3-0 to Real Monarchs SLC (6-1-0, 18 points) at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on Wednesday night.

For the second straight match, Los Dos trailed 1-0 after conceding a penalty early in the first half, with Real Monarchs’ Sebastian Velasquez beating Galaxy goalkeeper Jon Kempin for the game’s opening score.

Minutes before, midfielder Adrian Vera gave Galaxy their best chance of the game, when he banged a rebounded Ryo Fujii shot against the top of the crossbar. Real Monarchs controlled possession for much of the match, getting more of the chances and leaving Los Dos with scarce opportunities on the evening.

LA looked dangerous in the earlygoing of the second half, but were stifled in the 65th minute when a perfectly orchestrated possession from Real Monarchs was finished after Andrew Brody headed a cross back to the middle of the box at the feet of wide open Charlie Adams, who easily doubled the away side’s lead. Real Monarchs went on to add another just before the final whistle, with Karsten Hanlin providing the match’s last score.

After going five games without a win, the Galaxy will go back to the drawing board before they travel to face the defending USL champions, New York Red Bulls II, in a rare piece of scheduling against an Eastern Conference team on Sunday, May 14 at Red Bull Arena. The match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. PT and be streamed live on LAGalaxy.com/2.
