LOS ANGELES (Sunday, June 25, 2017)- LA Galaxy II (3-9-2, 11 points) fell to the Sacramento Republic (7-3-6, 24 points) after a 2-3 hard fought defeat on Sunday Night at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium (Carson, CA). Justin Dhillon and Adrian Vera notched the two goals for Galaxy side, both in the second half.

Galaxy II struggled offensively in the first half while Sacramento kept possession for most of the half. Sacramento opened the game with a long ball heavy game plan attempting to get behind Galaxy II defenders. But it turned out to be a hand ball in the box forcing a penalty kick in the 9th minute scored by Jeremy Hall. Sacramento then scored two more goals before the end of the half making the half time score 3-0.

However, Galaxy II came roaring back in the second half. In the 53rd minute Justin Dhillon scored on breakaway goal assisted by Adonis Amaya. The Galaxy started the second half very well offensively, making several plays behind the Sacramento Defense. The substitution of LA’s only bench players came in the 69th minute as Ryo Fujii and Adrian Vera entered the game. It didn’t take long for Vera to leave his mark on scoring an unassisted goal in the 70th minute.
