MLS signs four additional college standouts ahead of 2016 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas

NEW YORK(Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016) â€“ Major League Soccer today announced the signing of four additional college seniors in advance of tomorrow’s 2016 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas to be held at the Baltimore Convention Center and streamed live on LAGalaxy.comWatchESPN, and FOX Sports GO.  In addition, the final draft order (click here) as well as the full list of draft-eligible players (click here) are now available at MLSsoccer.com


The four new signees include two MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalists in University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill defender Jonathan Campbell and Clemson University defender Kyle Fisher. Campbell anchored UNC’s back line in 2015, finishing the year with NSCAA First Team All-American and First Team All-ACC honors. After leading Clemson University to the 2015 NCAA Men’s College Cup final, Fisher finished his college career with NSCAA First Team All-American and First Team All-South accolades in addition to being named ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Rounding out the group of signed seniors are University of Virginia midfielder Todd Wharton, who was named to the 2015 All-ACC Second Team, and University of Kentucky goalkeeper Callum Irving, who picked up a NSCAA First Team All American nod in 2015.
