Goals from Gabriel and Luan put Brazil up 2-0 before Jerome Julien Kiesewetter scored the only goal of the evening for the Americans. Sorto entered the match in the 35th minute for Real Salt Lake defender Boyd Okwuonu while Galaxy defender Dave Romney did not feature in the loss.
The U.S. U-23's next face Brazil on Sunday at 12 p.m. PT at the Mangueirão Stadium in Belém.
