Panama goalkeeper Jaime Penedo suspended for two matches by CONCACAF | INSIDER

LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo has been suspended two games by CONCACAF for his role in Panama's protestations after their controversial 2-1 defeat to Mexico in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals in Atlanta.

Penedo will miss Saturday's Gold Cup third place game with the United States, and one additional match due to CONCACAF's ruling. The reason for the suspension was not given to the Panamanian FA. In addition to Penedo's suspension, Panama's Football Federation were fined by CONCACAF for their protest after a late penalty was called by referee Mark Geiger in their 2-1 defeat.

Penedo will not be the only player unavailable for Panama on Saturday as Blas Perez, Luis Tejada, Patrick Pimentel, and Gabriel Gomez will all miss out.
