Sebastian Lletget says it'll be "amazing" to play close to his hometown in Friday's U.S. National Team WCQ in San Jose | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Sebastian Lletget is excited about the prospect of putting on the U.S. National Team kit just miles away from his hometown of San Francisco when the U.S. takes on Honduras on Friday.

Lletget and Galaxy teammate Jermaine Jones were named to the squad for the games against Honduras at San Jose's Avaya Stadium on March 24 and then Panama in Panama City four days later. The match against Honduras on Friday will have special significance for Lletget who will hope to make his first competitive appearance for the national team in nearby San Jose.

The importance of having his family and friends in attendance isn't lost on the 24-year-old, but Lletget says the most important thing for him will be representing his country once again.

"You couldn't write it any better. At this point in my career, I can look back and say that this is an amazing accomplishment. I never gave up, and now I'm at this point, and it's amazing," Lletget said. "My family and friends will be there and most importantly; it feels rewarding to put on the shirt again. It's going to be something special."

The 24-year-old Galaxy midfielder solidified his place on the roster with a strong showing in the team's two friendly matches earlier this year, and now Lletget is eager to make even more of an impact.

"Coming into these games is going to be an amazing experience. It's a huge honor to represent this country at the highest level, and the two World Cup qualifiers are very important for us moving forward. We need to win these games," Lletget told LAGalaxy.com. "I believe [they're must win games] especially the Honduras game because moving onto Panama is never going to be easy. We have to match the intensity ... With the players that we have, we can do it."
