Sigi Schmid ready to turn the page on "forgettable" 2017 season: "It's time to move on" | INSIDER

FRISCO, Texas – Sigi Schmid says it’s time for the LA Galaxy to forget and move on from their disastrous 2017 campaign.
Schmid summed up his team’s 5-1 defeat to FC Dallas and their lost 2017 season concisely after the team’s final match of the year.
“Forgettable game. Forgettable season,” Schmid said. “It’s time to get ready for 2018.”
Mike Ciani tallied his first goal for the LA Galaxy, but Los Angeles then conceded a whopping five unanswered goals to fall 5-1 to FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in their final regular season contest of 2017. As was the case time and time again during the Galaxy’s lost campaign, the team faltered and were dealt yet another blow.
The season concluded, Schmid can turn his focus to rebuilding a team coming off the worst season in club history. Schmid confirmed after the Dallas match that he'd hit the recruitment trail on Thursday as he seeks to retool a team that is expected to see widespread changes from coaching staff to the field.
The scale of the challenge ahead is not lost on Schmid, who is eager to get to work.
“It’s been a long time. If it can end up like it did last time,” Schmid said referencing his title with the Columbus Crew in 2008 which came off a losing season in Columbus. “We ended up with an MLS Cup championship, so that’s what we’re trying to do here.”
