Lineup Notes:

  • Novak Mićović, who made four saves in his LA Galaxy debut against Club León on July 25, makes his second consecutive appearance in the match against Vancouver. Mićović has posted one shutout in five appearances (5 starts) for LA Galaxy II during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season. Notably, Mićović has saved four of eight penalty-kick attempts in penalty-kick shootouts this season for Los Dos. Additionally, Mićović saved a penalty kick attempt in Galaxy II’s 1-0 shutout win over St Louis CITY 2 on July 9.
  • Calegari, a U-22 Initiative player, makes his 24th consecutive start for the Galaxy across all competitions in the match against Vancouver. 
  • Making his second consecutive start for the Galaxy is Tony Alfaro, who played 45 minutes off the bench in his debut for LA against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 15. 
  • LA Galaxy Academy product* Jalen Neal, who made four appearances (3 starts) for the USMNT during the 2023 Gold Cup, makes his second consecutive start in Leagues Cup play. Neal has recorded one goal in 18 games played (16 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy during the 2023 campaign.  Making his first start for the Galaxy dating back to June 21 is Julián Aude, who has tallied one goal in nine appearances (13 starts) across all competitions this season. 
  • Riqui Puig, who was named a 2023 MLS All-Star, makes his 26th appearance (26th start) across all competitions and captains LA in tonight’s Leagues Cup match against Vancouver. Puig has recorded four goals and seven assists in 25 matches played (25 starts) across all competitions this season. 
  • Uri Rosell makes his first start for the Galaxy dating back to the MLS Regular Season match at the Columbus on May 17. Rosell has made eight appearances (2 starts) across all competitions for LA during the 2023 campaign. 
  • Making his fourth start across all competitions this season for the Galaxy is Daniel Aguirre, who has recorded one goal and one assist in 21 games played (3 starts) across all competitions during the 2023 campaign. 
  • Douglas Costa,* who has tallied one goal and six assists in nine matches played across all competitions for the Galaxy dating back to June 7, gets the start out wide. Costa’s six assists in league play dating back to June 11 ranks tied for second in the league during that span.   Tyler Boyd, who leads the team with five goals scored and has added two assists in 26 matches played (19 starts) across all competitions this season for LA, starts out wide in the match against Whitecaps FC. 
  • Dejan Joveljić, who has tallied two goals and four assists in 24 games played (13 starts) across all competitions this season, gets the start up top for the Galaxy.
