Lineup Notes:

  • Jonathan Klinsmann, who tallied six saves and a shutout in a 2-0 win on the road against LAFC in the Round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup at BMO Stadium on May 23, makes his 10th  appearance across all competitions for the Galaxy during the 2023 campaign. Klinsmann has posted two career shutouts and holds a 4-1-0 record in five career U.S. Open Cup appearances. 
  • Calegari, a U-22 Initiative player, makes his 15th consecutive start for LA across all competitions in the match against Real Salt Lake.  Notably, Calegari was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 16 after recording two assists against RSL on May 31. 
  • Martín Cáceres, who scored his first career goal for the Galaxy in the 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on May 14, makes his 16th appearance (16th start) across all competitions during the 2023 campaign. 
  • Nineteen-year-old LA Galaxy Academy product Jalen Neal makes his 17th appearance (15th start) across all comps during the 2023 campaign for LA. Notably, Neal leads all MLS players in passing accuracy (94.4%).
  • Argentine youth international defender and U-22 Initiative player* Julián Aude, who recorded his first career goal in the 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC in the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup on May 10, makes his 10th consecutive start across all competitions for LA in the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal match against RSL.  Making his 17th start across all competitions for LA this season is Riqui Puig, who tallied an assist against RSL in the 3-2 win on May 31. Puig ranks third in the league in successful passes entering the final third (301), second in dribbles completed (52) and fourth in the league in passes completed (921).
  • Gastón Brugman makes his 17th start across all competitions for LA this season in the Quarterfinal match against RSL. Notably, Brugman scored his first goal of the year, a penalty kick, in the 3-2 win against Real Salt Lake on May 31. 
  • Mark Delgado, who tallied two assists in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 win against LAFC on May 23, makes his 18th appearance (17th start) across all competitions for the Galaxy this year. 
  • Tyler Boyd, who has tallied one goal and one assist in two U.S. Open Cup appearances (1 start) for LA this year, gets the start out wide. Notably, Boyd scored the game-winning goal in the 3-2 victory over RSL on May 31. 
  • Gino Vivi makes his second consecutive start across all competitions in the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal  match against Real Salt Lake. Vivi has made four appearances (2 start) across all competitions this season for LA. 
  • Making his return to the starting lineup after missing the last match against RSL due to a red-card suspension iscaptain Javier “Chicharito” Hernández. **In five career U.S. Open Cup appearances (3 starts) for LA, Chicharito has recorded one goal.
