- The LA Galaxy have played six preseason matches (4-1-1) during their 2022 preseason build up.
- The Galaxy earned a 5-4 victory over Toronto FC on Jan. 29 behind goals from Kévin Cabral, Samuel Grandsir, Javier Hernández, Efraín Álvarez and 2022 MLS SuperDraft pick Farai Mutatu.
- On Feb. 2, the Galaxy defeated LA Force 3-0 behind goals from Cameron Dunbar, Rayan Raveloson and Farai Mutatu.
- LA defeated the New England Revolution 4-0 behind a brace from Kévin Cabral, a goal from Dejan Joveljić and an own goal from New England on Feb. 5 at Dignity Health Sports Park.
- At the Coachella Valley Invitational, LA played Seattle Sounders FC to a 1-1 draw with Dejan Joveljić registering his second goal of the preseason at the Empire Polo Club on Feb. 10.
- The Galaxy won their fourth match of the preseason with a 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls behind a goal and an assist from Víctor Vázquez and the game-winning goal from Chicharito.
- On Feb. 16, the Galaxy fell 4-2 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Dignity Health Sports Park. Samuel Grandsir and Farai Mutatu tallied goals in LA’s first lost of the preseason.
- Farai Mutatu and Kévin Cabral have each notched three goals during the 2022 preseason, while Chicharito, Joveljić and Grandsir have tallied two goals apiece. Rayan Raveloson, Cameron Dunbar, Efraín Álvarez and Víctor Vázquez have each scored one goal in preseason play.
- The Galaxy have added five new players to their 2022 roster, bringing in midfielders Douglas Costa, Mark Delgado and Raheem Edwards, defender Kelvin Leerdam and goalkeeper Richard Sánchez.
- The LA Galaxy selected three players in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, presented by adidas. LA selected forward Farai Mutatu from Michigan State University in the first round (No. 21 overall), midfielder Callum Johnson from Clemson University in the second round (No. 42 overall) and defender Chandler Vaughn from Saint Louis University in the third round (No. 60 overall).
- Following Saturday’s match against D.C. United, the Galaxy will play host to New York City FC in their 2022 MLS regular season home opener at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2:00 p.m. PT (ESPN, ESPN Deportes).
- The Feb. 27 match against NYCFC marks the 14th time the Galaxy will open their home schedule against an Eastern Conference opponent.

- The LA Galaxy (13-12-9, 48 points) finished the 2021 MLS Regular Season in eighth place in the Western Conference standings, just missing out on qualifying for the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs. LA held an 8-4-5 record in 17 games played at Dignity Health Sports Park, while holding a 5-8-4 record in 17 games played on the road in 2021. Individually, Chicharito led the club and finished tied for third in the league with 17 goals scored in 21 games played (20 starts). Notably, Chicharito registered 10 goals in 10 games played at Dignity Health Sports Park last season. Julián Araujo led the Galaxy in minutes played (2,797), games started (32) and assists (7) in his third season with the club. Víctor Vázquez finished second on the team in assists (6), while Kevin Cabral, Sacha Klejstan and Rayan Raveloson finished tied for second on the team in goals scored (5). Notably, Chicharito and Araujo were named 2021 MLS All-Stars.
