McCarthy, who made five saves in the 0-0 shutout draw against Seattle Sounders FC on May 11, posted four shutouts in eight matches played during LAFC’s run to the 2022-23 Concacaf Champions League Final, earning Golden Glove honors and being named to the Concacaf Champions League Best XI.
  • Japanese International defender Miki Yamane makes his 11th appearance (11th start) during the 2024 campaign. Yamane was named to the J1 League Best XI in three consecutive seasons (2020, 2021, 2022), and helped Kawasaki Frontale earn two J1 League titles (2021, 2020), two Emperor’s Cup titles (2020, 2023) and one Japanese Super Cup (2021).
  • Japanese International defender Maya Yoshida captains the Galaxy in tonight’s match. Yoshida, who has recorded two goals in 11 appearances (11 starts) during the 2024 campaign, tallied one goal and one assist in 12 appearances (12 starts) for the Galaxy in league play last year.
  • Making his second consecutive start is LA Galaxy and U.S. Men’s National Team Defender Jalen Neal, who has tallied one goal in 23 career appearances (19 starts) across all competitions since signing a first-team contract with the Galaxy in 2021.
  • Argentine youth international defender Julián Aude, who recorded his first career goal in MLS play against LAFC on April 6, makes his 12th start of the season in tonight’s match against Real Salt Lake. Aude, who ranks tied for ninth in MLS in fouls suffered (24) and distance covered in possession (47.63 km), has recorded one goal and two assists in 11 appearances (11 starts) during the 2024 campaign.
  • Starting in midfield is Gastón Brugman, who has tallied two assists in 10 appearances (6 starts) during the 2024 MLS Regular Season. The Uruguayan midfielder has tallied six goals and six assists in 52 career matches played (49 starts) across all competitions in three seasons played for the LA Galaxy (2022-Present). Brugman’s wife, Marcela, gave birth to their second child, Francisco, on Tuesday, April 30.
  • Making his return to the starting lineup is Mark Delgado, who has tallied one goal and four assists in 10 appearances (10 starts) during the 2024 campaign. Notably, Delgado has tallied 23 goals and 35 assists in 300 combined MLS matches (regular season and playoffs) in his career.
  • Riqui Puig, who has recorded 32 goal contributions (15 goals, 17 assists) in 56 career appearances (54 starts) across all competitions for LA, returns to the Starting XI after missing the last match due to yellow-card accumulation. The 2023 MLS All-Star has seven goal contributions (3 goals, 4 assists) in 10 matches played (10 starts) for the Galaxy this season.
  • Ghanaian International winger Joseph Paintsil, who has recorded four goals and four assists in 11 games played (11 starts), makes his 12th start of the 2024 campaign. Paintsil has three games of at least one goal and one assist in the same match, which ranks tied for second in MLS with Evander behind only Lionel Messi (6).
  • Brazilian youth international forward Gabriel Pec makes his seventh consecutive start in tonight’s match against RSL.
