  • 2022 MLS Cup MVP John McCarthy makes his 16th start in goal for the LA Galaxy in tonight’s match against Sporting Kansas City. McCarthy, who made four saves his last appearance in a 3-1 win at home over FC Dallas on May 29, posted four shutouts in eight matches played during LAFC’s run to the 2022-23 Concacaf Champions League Final, earning Golden Glove honors and being named to the Concacaf Champions League Best XI.
  • Japanese International defender Miki Yamane, who recorded his first assist for the Galaxy in the 2-1 win over Houston on May 25, makes his 17th appearance (17th start) during the 2024 campaign. Yamane was named to the J1 League Best XI in three consecutive seasons (2020, 2021, 2022), and helped Kawasaki Frontale earn two J1 League titles (2021, 2020), two Emperor’s Cup titles (2020, 2023) and one Japanese Super Cup (2021).
  • LA Galaxy Academy product and U.S. Men’s National Team defender Jalen Neal, 20, makes his seventh appearance (5th start) of the 2024 campaign for the Galaxy in tonight’s match. Neal, who was with the U.S. Men’s Olympic Soccer Team for a Pre-Olympic match against Japan on June 11, has tallied one goal in 27 appearances (22 starts) across all competitions for the LA Galaxy.
  • Japanese International defender Maya Yoshida captains the Galaxy in tonight’s match. Yoshida, who has recorded two goals in 17 appearances (17 starts) during the 2024 campaign, has recorded three goals in 28 career regular-season appearances (28 starts) for LA.
  • Argentine youth national team defender Julián Aude, who recorded his first career goal in MLS play against LAFC on April 6, makes his 18th appearance (17th start) of the season in tonight’s match against Sporting KC. Aude, who ranks seventh in MLS in fouls suffered (34) and 11th in distance covered in possession (69.70 km), has recorded two goals and three assists in 42 games played (32 starts) across all competitions in two seasons played for the Galaxy.
  • Mark Delgado, who has recorded one goal and six assists in 16 appearances (16 starts) this season, starts in midfield. Notably, Delgado has tallied 22 goals and 37 assists in 293 career games played (257 starts) across 13 seasons in MLS (2012-Present). Additionally, Delgado ranks second in MLS behind only Riqui Puig in distance covered in possession (81.22 km). Delgado scored the game-winning goal in the 3-2 win over SKC on March 23.
  • Edwin Cerrillo makes his 18th appearance (12th start) for LA this season in tonight’s match against SKC. Cerrillo has notched five assists in 114 games played (81 starts) in six seasons played in MLS (2019-Present).
  • Diego Fagundez, who has tallied two goals and two assists in 17 appearances (8 starts), starts as the No. 10 in tonight’s match against Kansas City. Notably, the Galaxy are unbeaten (3-0-5) in each of Fagundez’s eight starts during the 2024 campaign. Fagundez has 144 goal contributions in 375 career MLS Regular Season appearances (276 starts) across 14 seasons played in the league(2011-Present).
  • LA Galaxy Academy product and Mexican youth international forward Jonathan Pérez, 21, makes his second career MLS start in tonight’s match against Sporting KC. Pérez has tallied one assist in 17 career appearances (3 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy.
  • Brazilian youth international forward Gabriel Pec, 23, who has tallied four goals and four assists in 16 appearances (13 starts) for the Galaxy this season, makes his 13th consecutive start in tonight’s match against SKC.
