Lineup Notes:

  • Jonathan Bond, who was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 3 after tallying 11 saves and a shutout against Sporting KC on March 11, makes his 10th start in league play this year for the Galaxy.
  • Calegari, a U-22 Initiative player, makes his 17th consecutive start for LA across all competitions in the match against Sporting KC. Notably, Calegari was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 16 after recording two assists against RSL on May 31.
  • Martín Cáceres, who scored his first career goal for the Galaxy in the 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on May 14, makes his 18th appearance (18th start) across all competitions during the 2023 campaign.
  • Making his first start in league play for the Galaxy since playing 58 minutes against LAFC on April 16 is Chris Mavinga, who has made seven appearances (2 starts) during the 2023 MLS Regular Season.
  • Argentine youth international defender and U-22 Initiative player* Julián Aude, who recorded his first career goal in the 3-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC in the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup on May 10, makes his 13th consecutive start across all competitions for LA in the match against Kansas City. Making his 18th start across all competitions for LA this season is Riqui Puig, who tallied an assist in the 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake on May 31. Entering tonight’s match, Puig ranks third in the league in successful passes entering the final third (319), second in dribbles completed (53) and fourth in the league in passes completed (979).
  • Gastón Brugman,* who has tallied two goals and one assist in 19 games played (18 starts) across all competitions this season,captains the Galaxy in the match against Sporting KC. Entering tonight’s match, Brugman has recorded one goal and one assist and leads MLS in passes attempted (1,189), ranks tied for first in successful passes (1,049) and ranks fourth in MLS in possessions won (135) in 16 league appearances (15 starts) during the 2023 campaign, Mark Delgado, who tallied two assists in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 win against LAFC on May 23, makes his 20th appearance (19th start) across all competitions for the Galaxy this year.
  • Tyler Boyd, who recorded the game-winning goal against Real Salt Lake on May 31, makes his 17th league appearance (12th start) for the Galaxy this season.
  • Douglas Costa earns his second consecutive start after recording the game-tying assist against St. Louis CITY SC on June 11. Costa has tallied one goal and one assist in two matches played across all competitions dating back to June 7.
  • Preston Judd makes hisfirst start in league play for the Galaxy since logging 90 minutes against the Portland Timbers on March 25. Judd, who recorded an assist against St. Louis CITY SC on June 11, has recorded one goal and one assist in 10 regular-season appearances ( 1 start) during the 2023 campaign.
