  • 2022 MLS Cup MVP John McCarthy makes his eighth consecutive start in goal for the LA Galaxy in tonight’s match against Vancouver. McCarthy, who made seven saves against LAFC on April 6, posted four shutouts in eight matches played during LAFC’s run to the 2022-23 Concacaf Champions League Final, earning Golden Glove honors and being named to the Concacaf Champions League Best XI.
  • Japanese International defender Miki Yamane starts at right back for the LA Galaxy against Vancouver. Yamane, who has made seven starts during the 2024 campaign, was named to the J1 League Best XI in three consecutive seasons (2020, 2021, 2022), and helped Kawasaki Frontale earn two J1 League titles (2021, 2020), two Emperor’s Cup titles (2020, 2023) and one Japanese Super Cup (2021).
  • Japanese International defender Maya Yoshida captains the Galaxy in tonight’s match. Yoshida, who has recorded one goal in seven appearances (7 starts) during the 2024 campaign, tallied one goal and one assist in 12 appearances (12 starts) for the Galaxy in league play last year.
  • Making his sixth start of the season for the Galaxy is Uruguayan National Team legend Martín Cáceres, who has tallied two goals and one assist in 26 career regular-season appearances (25 starts) across three seasons played for the LA Galaxy (2022-24).
  • Argentine youth international defender Julián Aude, who recorded his first career goal in MLS play against LAFC on April 6, makes his eighth start of the season in tonight’s match against Whitecaps FC. Aude notched one goal and one assist in 27 appearances (18 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy during the 2023 season.
  • Starting in midfield is Gastón Brugman, who has tallied two assists in six appearances (2 starts) during the 2024 MLS Regular Season. The Uruguayan midfielder has tallied six goals and six assists in 48 career matches played (45 starts) across all competitions in three seasons played for the LA Galaxy (2022-Present). Brugman has recorded one goal and one assist in four career regular-season matches played (4 starts) against Vancouver.
  • Mark Delgado, who scored the game-winning goal in the 3-2 win over Sporting KC on March 23, gets the start in midfield against LAFC. Delgado has five goal contributions (1 goal, 4 assists) in seven matches played (7 starts) during the 2024 campaign. Notably, Delgado leads MLS this season in total distance covered in kilometers (86.87 km; 53.9 miles), which averages out to 12.41 kilometers per game or 7.7 miles covered per match this season.
  • Riqui Puig, who has recorded 30 goal contributions (14 goals, 16 assists) in 53 career appearances (51 starts) across all competitions for LA, starts in midfield. The 2023 MLS All-Star has five goal contributions (2 goals, 3 assists) in six matches played (6 starts) for the Galaxy this season. Puig finished the 2023 campaign ranked first amongst all players in MLS in touches (2,752) and successful passes entering the final third (640), second in dribbles completed (92) and passes completed (1,892) and sixth in chances created from open play (55).
  • Ghanaian International winger Joseph Paintsil, who has recorded two goals and two assists in seven matches played (7 starts), makes his eighth start of the 2024 campaign. Paintsil ranks third in MLS in shot setups (17) behind only Luciano Acosta (25), Carles Gil (10) and Brooks Lennon (18) and has posted the fourth-fastest top speed in km/h this season in MLS (36.23) behind only Moise Bombito (37.27), Alvas Powell (36.47) and Sang Bin Jeong (36.44).
  • Brazilian youth international forward Gabriel Pec makes his fourth consecutive start in tonight’s match against Vancouver. Pec, who recorded his first goal of the 2024 campaign against Seattle last week, has tallied one goal in six appearances (3 starts) for LA during the 2024 campaign. Notably, Pec recorded 40 goal contributions (26 goals, 14 assists) in 178 career appearances across all competitions with Vasco da Gama (2019-23).
  • Dejan Joveljić, who ranks tied for third in MLS in goals scored (5) and has added one assist in seven appearances (6 starts) for LA during the 2024 campaign, starts up top. With his game-tying goal in the 3-2 come-from-behind win over Sporting KC on March 23, Dejan Joveljić joined Brian McBride as the only players in MLS history to score in a team’s first five matches to begin a season.
