Three things we learned from the LA Galaxy’s 4-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes presented by SNHU

SAN JOSE, Calif. – LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano provides his Three Things We Learned from the Galaxy’s 4-2 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes presented by SNHU. The Galaxy have now won three straight games and are unbeaten in their last five matches.

GIOVANI DOS SANTOS IS ON FIRE

Giovani dos Santos kept up his red-hot streak with yet another decisive performance during Saturday’s victory in San Jose.

Dos Santos notched a brace as he led the Galaxy to their third straight victory on the trot. With his two-goal showing, the 28-year-old Mexican striker has now scored five times and tallied one assist in his last four matches.

The Galaxy will have dos Santos’ services for just one more game next week before he joins Mexico for the Confederations Cup. Gio’s recent form should be a huge boost for Galaxy fans and Mexican national team fans heading into a busy summer.

JOAO PEDRO GETS OFF THE MARK IN STYLE

João Pedro tallied his first goal in an LA Galaxy uniform in Saturday’s win over the San Jose Earthquakes

Pedro gave Los Angeles their first goal of the evening in the 19th minute when he slotted an Ashley Cole dish into the back of the net from close range. The goal capped off a remarkable match for the Portuguese midfielder as he ended the match completing a jaw-dropping 100 percent of his passes.

After his goal, Pedro helped the Galaxy lock down the midfield and hold San Jose at bay by making three interceptions, one clearance, and a blocked shot, capping off the midfielder’s most complete game in MLS.

BRADLEY DIALLO STRONG AGAIN AT RIGHT BACK

The LA Galaxy’s right back position has been a revolving door this season, but Bradley Diallo potentially secured the spot for the foreseeable future with a solid showing against the Earthquakes on Saturday.

The Galaxy II alum won a penalty and helped set up a Quakes own goal in his return to the lineup after a one-game suspension. In addition to his offensive showing, Diallo notched a team-high six tackles to go with three clearances and two interceptions.

After yet another strong showing at right back, Curt Onalfo will most likely keep the French defender in his starting XI ahead of next week’s clash with D.C. United.
