That time I saved Sebastian Lletget from being cursed by Lil B | INSIDER

There was plenty cooking in Seattle on Sunday, but luckily, not the dreaded Based God Curse.

The LA Galaxy were nearly stricken with the "Based God Curse" which has befallen NBA stars Kevin Durant and James Harden after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC. Thankfully, I came to the rescue to save the day and the Galaxy's season.

As a primer for those unfamiliar with the curse, it was started by famed Bay Area rapper Lil B, who curses those he deems to have disrespected him

The incident began innocently enough with a tweet from the official LA Galaxy account of Sebastian Lletget’s celebration after his equalizer. The Galaxy tweet was immediately quote tweeted by the San Jose Earthquakes, tagging Lil B and questioning similarity of Lletget’s celebration and Lil B's iconic "cooking" dance.

The Earthquakes’ tweet drew an immediate response from famed Bay Area rapper Lil B.

Luckily after Lil B’s question, I took it upon myself to ask Lletget— a Bay Area native—about the connection between his “cooking” celebration and the rapper.

Lletget’s quick response averted the crisis as the rapper RT’d both tweets seemingly putting the crisis to end.

After training on Wednesday, I had the chance to speak to Sebastian about just how close he came to the most dreaded curse in professional sport.

“You warned me before I knew about it. Hopefully, that put the fire out,” Lletget with a chuckle. “It was funny that my kind of hometown team would try to do that. … It was funny, though. It made me laugh.”

You're welcome, Sebastian. You're welcome, Galaxy fans.
