The Galaxy continue their 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign by playing host to USL Championship side Sacramento Republic FC in the Quarterfinals of the competition on Tuesday, June 21 (7:30 p.m. PT; ESPN+). 

Dating back to their first U.S. Open Cup match in 1999, the LA Galaxy hold an all-time record of 35-17-1 in the competition and have been crowned champions twice (2001 and 2005). The match between LA and Sacramento will mark the second all-time meeting of the two teams, with LA earning a 2-0 win over Republic FC in the Round of 16 of the US. Open Cup at Dignity Health Sports Park on June 28, 2017. In three U.S. Open Cup matches played this year, LA holds a 3-0-0 record and have outscored their opponents 7-3. The Galaxy advanced to the Quarterfinal round following a 3-1 win at home over LAFC on May 25 behind goals from Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Kévin Cabral and Dejan Joveljić.
