The United States will host Ghana in a tune-up match for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup in East Hartford, Conn. on July 1.
The game will be held at Pratt & Whitney Stadium and is set to kick off at 1:45 p.m. PT. The USMNT’s World Cup rematch with Ghana will be broadcast on ESPN, UniMas, and Univision Deportes Network.
“Ghana is certainly a team that brings different challenges, and it’s the type of competition we need as we continue to develop our program,” U.S. MNT head coach Bruce Arena said in a statement. “Winning the Gold Cup is one of our priorities in 2017, so this is an important opportunity. We’ve always had great support in Hartford, and look forward to more of the same this summer.”
The two nations are old foes having played one another in the last three World Cups. In 2006 and 2010, Ghana bounced the USMNT from the competition, while the U.S. earned a 2-1 victory over the Black Stars in the 2014 edition of the tournament.
