U.S. U-23

The U.S. U-23's earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Colombia in the first leg of their Olympic Qualification Playoff on Friday

Luis Gil put the Americans up in the fifth minute after a deft pass from former LA Galaxy Academy product Mario Rodriguez. After the goal, the Americans found themselves on their heels, as Colombia began to dominate the match. Colombia broke through in the 67th minute when Juan Quintero scored a penalty after a foul in the box by FC Dallas defender Kellyn Acosta.

The Americans will now look to book their passage to the 2016 Olympic Games when they face Colombia on Tuesday at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. A win or a favorable draw will put the Americans through to their first Olympic Games since the 2008 edition in Beijing.
