More than 400 aspiring young soccer players will pursue their dreams this weekend in Southern California, as SueƱo MLS 2010 - built by The Home Depot, the nationally-televised player search, moves to Glendale Sports Complex on Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18, for the third and final open tryout.
While pre-registration for the Los Angeles area tryouts, hosted by the LA Galaxy, is full, players are encouraged to sign up in person for the āwalk-upā list, starting Saturday, April 17 at 8 a.m. local time. Glendale Sports Complex is located at 2200 Fern Lane, Glendale, CA 91208.
Fans are invited to catch all the action live, and meet RepĆŗblica Deportivaās āSenadoraā model Natalia SĆ”enz, who will be at the tryouts Saturday signing autographs and posing for photos.
Players already confirmed for the Los Angeles area tryouts hail from throughout California, as well as 10 other states and 10 countries.
Entering its fourth year, SueƱo MLS 2010 - built by The Home Depot includes three local tryouts in Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles. The program kicked-off on April 3 when more than 400 players battled in Houston for one of 10 invitations to a week-long trial with the Dynamoās youth development team. This process was repeated in Chicago the weekend of April 10-11, and continues in Southern California this weekend.
Ultimately, five standouts from each city will be invited to an exciting five-day āFinal Eventā in Los Angeles. The finals will include training sessions, scrimmages, guest celebrity scouts, and an opportunity to meet some of the Leagueās biggest stars. The SueƱo MLS champion will be crowned live on Sunday, May 9, on āRepĆŗblica Deportiva,ā the popular Univision weekly Spanish-language sports show that will chronicle the search in a āreality show within a showā format.
