The LA Galaxy signed midfielder Emil Cuello on February 27, 2019.
Cuello was selected by the Galaxy with the 19th overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft from Southern Methodist University. Cuello spent four years at Southern Methodist University, where he accumulated 72 appearances, 12 goals and 17 assists. During his final season with SMU, Cuello made 18 appearances and recorded five goals and seven assists.
In his freshman year at SMU, Cuello was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. His junior year, American Athletic Conference named Cuello Most Outstanding Offensive Player. His senior year, he was recognized as American Athletic Conference Tournament’s Most Valuable Player and First Team All-American Athletic Conference.
