Alvarez joined the LA Galaxy on loan from Atlético Tucamán on May 7, 2019.
Alvarez, an attacking midfielder who can play as a forward, began his professional career in 2010 with Talleres de Cordoba, making his debut on February 14 against Gimnasia y Esgrima.
During the 2012-13 season, Alvarez helped lead his team to the Torneo Argentino A Championship title, earning promotion to the Primera B Nacional, which is the second division of the Argentine soccer system. During his time with Talleres, Alvarez went on to make 88 appearances and scored 10 goals. The attacking midfielder also played for Defensa y Justicia and Sarmiento de Junín before completing his move to Atlético Tucamán on August 29, 2016.
Since joining Atlético Tucamán, Alvarez made 56 appearances and scored five goals in all competition. In all, Alvarez featured in competitions across Argentina’s Primera Divisiòn, Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana during his time with the club.
