Robbie Keane will not be suiting up for Ireland in their World Cup Qualifer against Germany on Friday due to an Achillies injury, the Irish Federation announced on Thursday. According to the release, Keane will remain with the squad and "will hopefully" be available for Ireland's next qualifier against the Faroe Islands next Tuesday.
Ireland are currently in third place in Group C, tied on points with Sweden with three, but trailing on goal differential. Germany lead the group with six points, having played one more match than both Sweden and Ireland.
