LA Galaxy to host World Cup viewing party at Lot 613 in Los Angeles

CARSON, Calif.(Tuesday, June 17, 2014) – The LA Galaxy announced today that the club will host a World Cup watch party for the highly anticipated U.S. National Team match against Cristiano Ronaldo and European power Portugal live at Lot 613 in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, June 22. The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT. All proceeds from the event go to the LA Galaxy Foundation.



Tickets for this exclusive event start at $30, which includes food and two drinks, or an all-inclusive VIP package for $150. Tickets for the viewing party can be purchased online at http://joinordie.lagalaxy.com/.


As part of the event, the LA Galaxy Foundation has commissioned 10 renowned artists to create a unique piece of art featuring the adidas Brazuca World Cup ball. Each of the 10 pieces of art will be available for auction at Lot 613 with proceeds benefiting the LA Galaxy Foundation. The artists are: 


Upendo

As an artist, designer, lover of life, and co-founder of apparel brand Leroy Jenkins, Upendo’s inspiration is drawn from the streets, sports, music, fashion, friends, political and social issues, pop culture, cartoon characters and his favorite food - the hamburger.

Nathan Gelgud

Nathan Gelgud is Brooklyn based illustrator. He has worked with the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Portland-based brand Spikes High as well as Paris Review, Nike, The Believer, and Random House.

Sophie Roach

Sophie Roach is an artist and illustrator based in Austin, TX. Utilizing familiar shapes, patterns, and her intuition, Sophie has created a unique visual language based on spontaneity and rhythm. Her abstract style is playful yet austere, extremely detailed, and often vibrantly colored.


Nathan McKee

Nathan McKee is an artist and illustrator based out of Portland, Or. McKee’s illustrations and paper cutouts utilize simple lines and flat color, and are inspired by comics, sports, music and other elements of popular culture.


King Cre8

Eric "KING CRE8" Walker, based out of Los Angeles, is an emerging force to be reckoned with in the art world. As a Graffiti Artist, muralist, illustrator, graphic designer and art instructor, he is heavily influenced by all elements of Hip Hop.


samir evol

Born in the Middle East, Samir moved to the US in the late 80’s. A student of character animation,  he has worked in animation and video game studios in addition being an established graffiti artist with the 7th Letter and FLY ID crews.


Kii Arens

Kii Arens is a rock-n-roll inspired artist. The St. Paul native grew up with a fascination for album covers, fonts and Sid & Marty Krofft. Based in LA, his work can be seen at the La-La Land Gallery.


Gari Askew

Askew II is a commercial portrait photographer based in Los Angeles California. Originally from Atlanta, GA. 


Tahiti Pehrson

Based out of San Francisco and inspired by global travel, Tahiti Pearson began as a painter but has evolved to utilize stickers and stencil making as a means of public engagement.

Bruce Paulson

Bruce Collin Paulson is a Portland Or. Based artist who has been actively doing letterpress for four years. Inspired by nature, geometry, mysticism and the occult, Paulson sees his work as a way to manifest the internal world into the external for all to see.


For the duration of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the LA Galaxy will serve as the organizers of additional World Cup viewing parties throughout Southern California.


The LA Galaxy will also be teaming up with El Torito to host viewing parties and World Cup events, as the restaurant will be serving as the Official “March to Brazil” Watch Party Destination. The complete schedule of events hosted by the Galaxy is detailed below.
