UC Berkeley soccer player Eloi Vasquez missing in Los Angeles; $100,000 reward offered

The entire California soccer community is banning together to aid in the safe return of UC Berkeley student-athlete Eloi Vasquez who went missing after leaving a party near the campus of the University of Southern California early Saturday morning. 


A $100,000 reward is being offered for Vasquez's safe return by the 19-year-old's family
.
Vasquez, a 19-year-old freshman midfielder on the Cal soccer team, left a fraternity party at USC's chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon on the on the 600 block of West 28th Street at around 1:30 a.m. PT. The Northern California native told friends at the party that he "was going to the beach," Vasquez then called a friend in Northern California an hour later, and was has not been heard from since. 

“Eloi is a wonderful young man who has excelled both academically and athletically here at Cal," the Cal Athletics department said in a statement. "Our entire Cal Athletics family is very concerned for Eloi’s safety and our first priority is to help in any way we can to locate him."

UPDATE: Multiple Bay Area outlets are reporting that Eloi Vasquez was found dead a mile away from the USC campus. Vasquez's family tells reporters that the Cal soccer player was hit by a car in the area. Prayers go out to his family and loved ones.
