LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane scored two goals and went 69 minutes as the Republic of Ireland picked up a 4-0 victory over Gibraltar in Euro 2016 qualifying on Friday.

Ireland went into halftime up just one on the minnows but two quick goals by Keane in the opening stages of the second half allowed the Irish to pull away from Gibraltar. Cyrus Christie and Shane Long scored the first and fourth goals respectively for the Irish.

With his two goals, Keane has now scored in an international match for 18 consecutive years and is just one goal away from tying German legend Gerd Muller for 12th on the all-time international scoring list.

The Republic of Ireland are now in third in Euro 2016 qualifying Group D and return to action on Tuesday when they host Georgia in Dublin.
