CARSON, Calif. – Steven Gerrard is steadily making progress from a left calf injury he suffered last month.
The 35-year-old central midfielder did some light running off to the side on Tuesday but has not yet returned to full training putting his status for Sunday’s match against the Portland Timbers in doubt. Gerrard suffered the injury in the opening minutes of the Galaxy’s victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on March 19.
“He’s making progress,” Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena told reporters. “He was out today. He’s getting there.”
