CARSON, Calif. – Nigel de Jong’s three-game suspension is finally complete, but the Dutch midfielder may not participate in Sunday’s match against the New England Revolution.
De Jong was not present for the portion of training open to media on Friday and Bruce Arena told reporters after practice that he was undecided on whether he will play against the Revolution.
“It remains to be seen,” Arena said.
Los Angeles Times reporter Kevin Baxter tweeted on Friday that De Jong is expected to miss the match with an injury. The 31-year-old midfielder made five appearances for the Galaxy before his three-game suspension after Los Angeles’ draw with the Portland Timbers on April 10.
