CARSON, Calif. -- Former LA Galaxy central defender Leonardo was selected by the Houston Dynamo in Stage Two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft on Thursday.
Houston will now hold the exclusive right to negotiate a contract with Leonardo for the 2017 season. Leonardo spent the last seven years with the LA Galaxy, winning three MLS Cups, and making 85 career regular season appearances for the club. The 28-year-old defender was also named the Galaxy's 2015 Defender of the Year.
Leonardo made four regular season appearances for the Galaxy in 2016.
