Curt Onalfo provides an update on goalkeeper Clement Diop | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Goalkeeper Clement Diop's status for the LA Galaxy's clash with Seattle Sounders FC is up in the air after the 23-year-old suffered a hip injury last week.

Diop went down after making a daring stop of a Giles Barnes run in the penalty area in the 67th minute. As the Orlando City attacker rushed forward, Diop ran off his line to meet the threat and collided with the attacker to stop the chance.

The Parisian goalkeeper remained down for several minutes before continuing for the remainder of the match. On Tuesday, Onalfo gave an update on Diop's status after the collision.

"He’s struggling. He was a warrior, and he fought through the injury. It swelled up on him pretty bad. It was his hip. He was barely able to board the plane," Onalfo told reporters on Monday. "It was touch and go whether he’d be able to fly home. He was able to board the flight, but he’s struggling. We have to look at him day to day and see how he progresses. He’s in a tough spot right now physically."
