Curt Onalfo rules out Daniel Steres for D.C. United match | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy will be without Daniel Steres for Saturday’s match against D.C. United, head coach Curt Onalfo confirmed on Tuesday.

The Galaxy’s reliable central defender suffered a right hamstring injury during the first half of Los Angeles’ 4-2 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes last Saturday. Steres will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, but Onalfo says the injury “doesn’t look good.”

“He’s going to be out for the weekend. It’s just a matter of how long. It doesn’t look good,” Onalfo told reporters on Tuesday. “Any time that a player comes out grabbing the back of his hamstring, it’s definitely something that is not going to be a quick recovery. We just need to get the MRI and the medical report later in the week.”

Before exiting in the 43rd minute of Saturday’s match, Steres had played every minute for the Galaxy’s 12 MLS Regular Season matches this season. Dave Romney stepped in for Steres against Salt Lake and figures to once again fill his spot when the Galaxy take on D.C. United at RFK Stadium on Saturday.
