We're back! LA Galaxy kick off U.S. Open Cup campaign and return to MLS play at StubHub Center | Weekly Schedule

For the first time since May 6, the LA Galaxy return to StubHub Center this week for two home matches. They’ll begin their 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign at 7:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, June 14 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium in the Fourth Round of the tournament. The match will be broadcast live on Spectrum SportsNet and Spectrum Deportes. Then on Saturday, they return to MLS regular season play with a home contest against Houston Dynamo, kicking off at 8:00 p.m. PT and broadcasted live on UniMás.

This week, LA prepares for 2017 U.S. Open Cup play ahead of their 19th season participating in the tournament. Orange County SC earned a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Wolves on May 31 in the U.S. Open Cup Third Round at Azusa Pacific University to advance to the fourth round contest against the Galaxy.

The Galaxy have recorded a 30-16-1 all-time record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They have entered the Open Cup every year since 1999, winning the tournament in 2001 and 2005 while reaching the Open Cup Final on two other occasions. Last year, the Galaxy fell to FC Dallas in the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Tickets for the match, which will be broadcast live on Spectrum SportsNet and Spectrum Deportes, are on sale now at www.lagalaxy.com beginning at just $10 for LA Galaxy Season Ticket Members and $20 for all other fans.

On Saturday, after 42 days away from StubHub Center, the LA Galaxy (5-5-3, 18 points) return to MLS play when they line up against the Houston Dynamo (7-6-2, 23 points) for the first time of the season, a side they took all the points against in 2016, outscoring them 6-1 across three wins. LA edged Houston with two 1-0 wins in both their trips to StubHub Center last year.

The Galaxy will rely on Romain Alessandrini to lead the attack in the absence of Giovani dos Santos, with Dos Santos on international duty with Mexico for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. Alessandrini has recorded six goals and six assists in 13 games this year, on pace for an MVP-worthy season.
