LA Galaxy continue their U.S. Open Cup campaign and rematch San Jose in a California Clásico | Weekly Schedule

The LA Galaxy (6-6-4, 22 points) will play in multiple matches for the third-consecutive week, beginning this Wednesday, June 28 when they host Sacramento Republic FC in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 (7:30 p.m. PT; Spectrum SportsNet, Spectrum Deportes) at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. LA will then travel north for the
California Clásico
against the San Jose Earthquakes at Stanford Stadium this Saturday, July 1 (7 p.m. PT; Univision).
The Galaxy had an eight-game unbeaten run in MLS snapped on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City at StubHub Center. They enter this weekend’s match with the best road record in MLS, going 5-2-1 on the road this season, including 4-0-1 in their last five road games.
2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup – Round of 16: LA Galaxy vs. Sacramento Republic FC – Wednesday, June 28
The Galaxy advanced from the U.S. Open Cup’s Fourth Round after a 3-1 win over USL side Orange County SC at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium on June 14. The June 28 fixture will be the first-ever competitive meeting between LA Galaxy and Sacramento Republic FC. Should the Galaxy advance, they’ll play away against the winner of San Jose Earthquakes vs. Seattle Sounders FC.
The Galaxy have recorded a 30-16-1 all-time record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They have entered the Open Cup every year since 1999, winning the tournament in 2001 and 2005 while reaching the Open Cup Final on two other occasions. Last year, the Galaxy fell to FC Dallas in the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

The Galaxy will play the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday in what will mark the second
California Clásico
of 2017, with LA winning the first contest 4-2 at Avaya Stadium behind a brace from Giovani dos Santos. All time, LA have gone 30-20-14 against SJ, scoring 104 goals in the 64 previous contests. The match will mark the sixth-straight season the Galaxy have faced San Jose at Stanford Stadium, with the Galaxy going 1-3-1 in their previous five.
