Jelle Van Damme out for revenge against the San Jose Earthquakes | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Jelle Van Damme is ready for another shot at the San Jose Earthquakes.

Van Damme was famously sent off following the Galaxy’s 2-1 defeat to the Earthquakes on July 1 and did not hide his frustration at the officiating after Los Angeles’ loss. On Monday, Van Damme will lead Los Angeles back to Northern California as they face the Earthquakes in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals at Avaya Stadium.

Although the circumstances will be different, Van Damme says he’s ready to face San Jose.

“Of course, it’s a derby, but last time I was more frustrated with the referee than anything,” Van Damme told LA Galaxy Insider. “Of course I want to give them revenge. We’ve played twice, they’ve won once and we’ve won, so I want revenge and to get the victory. We’ve got to get it so we can get the cup.”
