Jelle Van Damme: LA Galaxy must "put their heads together" to find success in "strange season" | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Jelle Van Damme has advice for his LA Galaxy squad after the team’s latest home defeat.

In the words of Tupac Shakur, “keep ya head up.”

The Galaxy dropped their fourth consecutive MLS regular season match and their fifth in a competitive game on Wednesday. A lone second half goal by Tony Tchani was all Vancouver Whitecaps FC needed to secure a 1-0 victory over Los Angeles and give Curt Onalfo’s team to a 1-6-3 record at StubHub Center this season.

After the loss, the Galaxy captain acknowledged that he’s been stunned by his team’s home struggles this season. But despite the difficulties, Van Damme said that he and the rest of the could not “put their heads down” ahead of Saturday’s game with the New England Revolution.

“It’s been a funny season, a strange season. We’ve had ups and downs, but a few too many ups and downs so I just want to focus on the things we need to focus on. Players are coming back fit again,” Van Damme said. “A few weeks ago we only had 15 players to go on the road game, so it’s a good thing. The experienced guys are coming back and being fit again.

“We’re bringing them in, and now we just have to move on. It’s a good thing that there’s another game Saturday so we can move on to the next game. We’ll put our heads together and get out of this situation.”
