LA Galaxy to host First to Five Night July 29 vs. Seattle Sounders FC

The LA Galaxy will host First to Five Night at StubHub Center when they face Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. PT live on ESPN as they celebrate players from each of the club’s record five MLS Cup-winning teams. Scheduled to be a part of the First to Five Night match, presented by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles,are former coach Sigi Schmid and former players Mike Magee, Todd Dunivant, Kevin Hartman and Mauricio Cienfuegos, each of whom played an integral part in one of the Galaxy MLS Cup wins in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012 and 2014.

All five guests will be honored on the field at halftime of the LA Galaxy’s match vs. Seattle Sounders FC match at StubHub Center. Prior to the match, the LA Galaxy will host meet and greet opportunities with each of the team’s MLS Cup winning sides.


Tickets to the match against Seattle Sounders FC are on sale now at www.lagalaxy.com/tickets. The Galaxy are in action on the road this Saturday, July 22 at Gillette Stadium when they face the New England Revolution before returning to StubHub Center for next weekend’s contest.




Sigi Schmid – 2002 MLS Cup Champion

From 1999 through 2004, Schmid led the LA Galaxy to four major competition titles: the 2002 MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield, the 2001 U.S. Open Cup and the 2000 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup. He was voted the MLS Coach of the Year in his first season, 1999. Altogether, his Galaxy teams were 79-53-32 and reached the MLS Cup final four times, winning three division crowns. Schmid ranks No. 1 in MLS career victories and games coached. Overall, Schmid’s record in MLS is 222-165-113. His combined post-season win total (26) is the second-highest in MLS history.


Mike Magee – 2011, 2012 MLS Cup Champion

Magee recorded a 14-year career in Major League Soccer as one of the most accomplished players in league history, while helping lead the club to two MLS Cup trophies. In all, he earned 316 appearances, 70 goals, 38 assists, two MLS Cups (2011, 2012), two MLS Supporters’ Shield trophies (2010, 2011), MLS MVP (2013) and MLS Best XI (2013) honors during his time in MLS.


Todd Dunivant – 2005, 2011, 2012, 2014 MLS Cup Champion

Dunivant was arguably the best left back in Major League Soccer and finished his career as one of the most successful players in MLS history. He recorded 282 all-time MLS appearances, five MLS Cup trophies – four as a member of the LA Galaxy – two Supporters’ Shields and a U.S. Open Cup.


Kevin Hartman – 2002, 2005 MLS Cup Champion

Hartman is one of the Galaxy’s and Major League Soccer’s most decorated goalkeepers of all time, representing LA from 1997-2006 and making 243 appearances while helping lead the club to two MLS Cup trophies (2002, 2005).


Mauricio Cienfuegos – 2002 MLS Cup Champion

Cienfuegos helped the Galaxy MLS capture all three major regional championships, including the 2002 MLS Cup Championship, 2001 U.S. Open Cup and 2000 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup. In addition, the Galaxy advanced to the league semifinals six times (‘96, ‘98, ’99, ‘00, ‘01, ‘02) and played in four MLS Cups (1996, 1999, 2001 and 2002) while Cienfuegos represented the club.
