Mexico is headed to Russia.


El Tri booked their ticket to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia on Friday with a 1-0 victory over Panama. Hirving Lozano scored the lone goal for Mexico to help them become the fifth nation to qualify for the tournament.


The goal that sent Mexico to their seventh consecutive World Cup came in the 53rd minute when Jesus Corona out in the work to keep the ball in play before dishing a cross Lozano for an uncontested header.


Giovani and Jonathan dos Santos were unused substitutes in the win.


Mexico return to action on Tuesday when they face Costa Rica in San Jose.
