The LA Galaxy are collecting donations in support of those affected by the Los Angeles fires in support of community partner Union Rescue Mission (URM), who have been displaced due to the recent fires in Los Angeles. Galaxy fans are encouraged to drop off items at StubHub Center before 6 p.m. PT this Thursday to support those in need.

Union Rescue Mission (URM) have been forced to evacuate their women and children’s long term shelter located in Sylmar due to the recent fires. With the homelessness epidemic already at record numbers, they were already operating well above capacity and serving 55% more people than last year. The recent addition of their Sylmar residents has added to that and they are in immediate need of the below items.

URM is a private homeless shelter located on Skid Row with a satellite location for women and children in Sylmar serving people experiencing homelessness that provides emergency and long-term services including food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training; while sleeping over 1,500 homeless Angelenos a night.

The LA Galaxy will be collecting items on behalf of URM and plan on delivering donated goods this Friday, December 8th. Galaxy fans can support efforts by dropping off items at StubHub Center by 6 p.m. PT on Thursday, Dec. 7.
