LA Galaxy sign midfielder Servando Carrasco

The LA Galaxy have signed midfielder Servando Carrasco, the club announced today. The Galaxy acquired Carrasco’s rights with the first pick in Stage 2 of the 2017 MLS Re-Entry Draft in December.


“Servando has extensive MLS experience and brings depth to our squad,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid. “We’re excited to welcome Servando to the Galaxy.”

Carrasco, 29, joins the Galaxy after three seasons with Orlando City SC, where he made 58 appearances since joining the side in 2015. Carrasco was originally selected by Seattle Sounders FC in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft and has remained in MLS, additionally playing for Sporting KC and Houston Dynamo. In all, the midfielder has made 126 appearances in MLS with 77 starts, scoring twice and notching five assists.


A product of San Diego, California, Carrasco played four years of collegiate soccer at University of California-Berkeley, earning recognition as a first-team All-Pac 10 honoree and Third Team All-American.
