Meet "The Godfather" Giuseppe Guastella's squad for eMLS Cup

CARSON, Calif. – The Godfather is looking to make a splash at eMLS Cup this weekend.

Giuseppe Guastella, also known by his FIFA gamer tag xGGGodfatherx, will compete along with 19 other MLS competitors in eMLS Cup this weekend at PAX East in Boston. The tournament runs from April 5 to April 8, with the final rounds taking place on Sunday.

Guastella, a native of San Pedro, Calif., brings a strong pedigree to the tournament, which includes winning the 2009 FIFA Interactive World North American Championship and a top-four finish at the 2012 FIWC in Dubai. Additionally, the 32-year-old won the North American championship at the 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star Game and was crowned FUT Champion in Vancouver.

As he prepares for this week’s battle, Guastella is drawing inspiration from a common source among Galaxy fans these days—Zlatan Ibrahimović.

"I can't wait to represent the LA Galaxy in the first ever eMLS Cup. Zlatan was a big inspiration after seeing that legendary performance," Guastella told LA Galaxy Insider. "Hopefully, I can duplicate the Galaxy's performance [against LAFC] and bring home the eMLS cup -- so Zlatan can be proud of me."

Given the praise, it's little surprise that Ibrahimović will be included in Guastella's final squad for eMLS Cup. The team includes four Galaxy players: Romain Alessandrini, Giovani dos Santos, Jonathan dos Santos, and Zlatan.
