Zlatan Ibrahimović ready after wild first week with the LA Galaxy: "I feel alive"

CARSON, Calif. – Zlatan Ibrahimović isn’t worried performing an encore after his transcendent debut for the LA Galaxy.

No, he’s not too concerned about his goal seen around the globe or the brace that helped cap a wild comeback win over a new inner-city opponent.

Nah, Ibrahimović isn’t too concerned any of those facts. All those details are in the past, and the Galaxy’s newest forward is looking to the future.

Ibrahimović will play his second match with the club on Sunday when Los Angeles host Sporting Kansas City at StubHub Center. After a player of the week performance in his first match, Ibrahimović is already looking forward.

“The important thing is to settle in and get to know the players. I want to train good and prepare for the next game,” he told reporters on Friday. “The last game has already passed us by, and now we’re onto the next one. Let’s focus on that game.”

Head coach Sigi Schmid has told reporters this week that Ibrahimović has gone full speed in training, and could potentially see more than the 20 minutes he earned on his debut last Sunday. Whether the Swedish striker is ready for the additional time remains to be seen, but the confident striker admits that he is right at home with the Galaxy.

“I want to focus on the right things and prepare in the best way. I still feel jet lag, but day by day I’m coming in. I feel good. How many minutes I have in me? I don’t know. Last game, I played 20 minutes. I had a lot of adrenaline. It’s one thing coming in and it’s another starting the game. Let’s see.

"I feel alive, let's just say it like that."
