Match Report: LA Galaxy advance in U.S. Open Cup past FC Golden State Force

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy advanced to the fifth round of the U.S. Open Cup with a victory over FC Golden State Force on Wednesday.

Ariel Lassiter scored twice and Bradford Jamieson IV added one of his own for the Galaxy in their 3-1 victory at the StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium over the amateur side. Pedro Fonseca scored the lone goal for FC Golden State Force.

Jamieson opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a curling finish off a pass from Galaxy II defender John Requejo. The Galaxy Homegrown Player went 74 minutes in his first match for the senior team this season.

Los Angeles sealed the victory late in the first half with a remarkable finish by Lassiter. The Galaxy striker found the back of the net with an overhead scissor kick to give the Galaxy the victory.

Fonseca notched a consolation strike for the amateurs before Lassiter sealed his brace late in the second half to quell the comeback.

The Galaxy will learn their fifth round opponent and location on Thursday.
