Lineup Notes

  • A tight turnaround will see the Galaxy face the Colorado Rapids as they play their second game in four days, having hosted Minnesota on Saturday.
  • LA Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid will make two changes to the starting lineup from Saturday’s contest as Chris Pontius and Sebastian Lletget get the start in place of Romain Alessandrini and Giovani dos Santos, both out of tonight’s match due to injury.
  • In net, David Bingham continues for the LA after playing every single minute between the pipes in MLS play, posting six shutouts and recording 90+ saves on the year.
  • Defender Dave Romney will start his 17th game this season for the Galaxy. Since joining the club from LA Galaxy II, Romney has quietly racked up 62 MLS previous appearances.
  • In the center of defense is Michael Ciani, who makes his second-straight start after returning to the XI on Saturday.
  • Defender Jorgen Skjelvik makes his 25th start of the season. He and David Bingham are the only two players to start in each match this year for the Galaxy.
  • On the right is Chris Pontius, the man with the best first name in MLS. This year, he has seven goals and five assists. In his MLS career, he has 50 total goals.
  • In the center of the field is Perry Kitchen, who will make his 23nd start of the season for LA, the third most of any player on the team.
  • Rounding out the central midfield is Jonathan dos Santos, who makes his 15th start of the season. JDS continues to be in solid form since returning from the World Cup with Mexico.
  • On the left is LA Galaxy captain Ashley Cole, who has six assists this year, second only behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
  • Moving into a playmaker role on offense is Sebastian Lletget, who played 45 minutes on Saturday vs. Minnesota. Lletget scored his second goal of the season on Saturday.
  • Up top is Ola Kamara, one of the most dangerous goal scorers in MLS, with 43 total goals in three years in the league.
  • Up top is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has scored a lot.

  • This year at home, LA has gone 6-4-2 on the year, with 26 goals scored and 21 conceded.
  • All time, LA are 37-24-10 against the Colorado Rapids.

Quick Hits

I'm Gonna Be (500 Goals) Lyrics - The Proclaimers

When I wake up, well I know I'm gonna be,

I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next you

When I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you

If I get drunk, well I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you

And if I haver up, yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you

But I would score 500 goals

And I would score 500 more

Just to be the man who scores 1,000 goals

To fall down at your door

When I'm working, yes I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you

And when the money, comes in for the work I do

I'll pass almost every penny on to you

When I come home (when I come home) well I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you

And if I grow-old (when I grow-old) well I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you

But I would score 500 goals

And I would score 500 more

Just to be the man who scores 1,000 goals

To fall down at your door
