Lineup Notes

  • LAvLAFC: The Threequel. In their final regular season installment of the contest, the Western Conference sides will square off with just two months remaining in the MLS Regular Season.
  • LA Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid will field a lineup without any Galaxy DPs as both Dos Santos brothers and Romain Alessandrini remain out injured.
  • In net, David Bingham will get his 27th start of the MLS Regular Season, playing every single minute between the pipes this year for the Galaxy. Bingham is the most famous David B in LA Galaxy history that isn’t married to a former Spice Girl.
  • Venezuelan defender and very-cool-hair expert Rolf Feltscher will make his second-straight start after missing nearly four months of game action due to injury. Feltscher made his first appearance since April 21 on Saturday vs. Seattle.
  • In the middle is Norwegian defender Jorgen Skjelvik, who joined the Galaxy this offseason and has gone on to start in every match this year, joining Bingham as the only two players to start in each game.
  • Dave Romney will continue in the backline for the Galaxy in what will be his 19th start of the 2018 season. Romney was LA Galaxy’s first-ever signing from LA Galaxy II and has quietly racked up 64 appearances since joining the club.
  • On the right is Chris Pontius, the player with the best first name in all Major League Soccer. Pontius will make his 200th start in MLS. During that time, he has tallied 50 goals and 35 assists.
  • In the center of the field is Perry Kitchen, making his 25th start of the season. Kitchen returned to MLS this offseason with the Galaxy and has become a key member of the central midfield.
  • Alongside Kitchen is Servando Carrasco, who will make his second-straight start in the central midfield as Jonathan dos Santos recovers from a groin injury. Carrasco has made eight previous starts this year since joining the club this offseason.
  • On the left is captain Ashley Cole, in his third season in MLS and still without visit to a beach since his arrival. Even at 37, Cole has shown why he was one of the best left backs of his generation.
  • In the playmaking role in the middle of the field, Sebastian Lletget who continues in the XI after missing time due to injury. Lletget has scored two goals in his last three games for the Galaxy.
  • Playing at striker is forward Ola Kamara, who scored the tying goal late in the game at Banc of California in the last matchup vs. LAFC.
  • Leading the way is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored against LAFC previously.

Game Notes

  • The Galaxy are 10-9-7 on the year, with 48 goals scored and 47 goals conceded.
  • This year at home, LA have gone 6-4-3 while scoring 28 goals and allowing 23.
  • The LA Galaxy have gone 1-0-1 vs. LAFC in the two previous games this season.
  • LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains two goals shy of scoring 500 career senior goals between club and country.
    • Should Ibrahimovic score two goals, he would join Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the only two active players to reach 500 goals in their senior career.
  • The Galaxy are 3-1-4 when leading at halftime and 6-1-5 when scoring the first goal of the match.
  • Conversely, they are 4-6-1 when trailing at half and 4-8-1 when conceding first this year.

Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard – Paul Simon

The mama pajama rolled out of bed

And she ran to the police station

When the papa found out he began to shout

And he started the investigation

It's against the law

It was against the law

What the mama saw

It was against the law

The mama looked down and spit on the ground

Every time my name gets mentioned

The papa said, "oy, if I get that boy

I'm gonna stick him in the house of detention"

Well I'm on my way

I don't know where I'm going

I'm on my way

I'm taking my time

But I don't know where

Goodbye to Rosie, the queen of Corona
