LA Galaxy put themselves back in the "playoff conversation" with dominant win over Seattle Sounders FC

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy launched themselves back into the playoff chase on Sunday with a commanding 3-0 victory over Seattle Sounders FC.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ola Kamara, and Ema Boateng found the back of the net for Los Angeles who earned their first win since July 29. With the victory, the Galaxy find themselves in seventh place, one point ahead of Vancouver Whitecaps FC heading into the team's match next weekend.

It was kind of a do-or-die game for us today, we had to win,” Galaxy defender and captain Ashley Cole said. “Today was probably our best performance. We played well, we moved the ball well, defended well and it was the perfect game, perfect result for us.”

The Galaxy’s playoff hopes firmly within reach, head coach Dom Kinnear was proud of his team’s performance.

“It puts us back in the conversation, and that was the message before the game when we were talking: ‘Let’s not worry about what other teams are doing, let’s try and get ourselves back into it,’” Kinnear said. “And, with a win today, obviously when people were talking about possibilities of teams making playoffs, our name was never mentioned; not that I take it personal, but I can see where they’re coming from. But, with a win now, obviously the conversation changes a little bit.”
