LA Galaxy prepare for important clash with Vancouver Whitecaps FC | Weekly Schedule

LOS ANGELES (Monday, Sept. 24, 2018) – The LA Galaxy (11-11-8, 41 points) are back for a second straight week at StubHub Center to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC (11-11-7, 40 points) at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 29. The match will be broadcast live on Spectrum SportsNet.

The Galaxy are 9-5-5 against the Whitecaps all-time, and are 7-2-1 against them at StubHub Center. LA drew 0-0 with Vancouver in their only matchup this season, on March 24 at BC Place. LA Galaxy are 7-4-4 at home this year while Vancouver are 5-7-2 on the road.

LA Galaxy enter the week at 7^th in the MLS Western Conference standings, one spot out of a playoff position. The Galaxy moved up in the standings over the weekend with a 3-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC. Zlatan Ibrahimović, Ola Kamara and Ema Boateng all scored in the match as the Galaxy broke a seven-game winless streak. It also marked the Galaxy’s first shutout since July 7.

At this weekend’s match against Vancouver, the LA Galaxy will distribute a commemorative #Zlatan500 poster, celebrating Zlatan Ibrahimović’s 500^th career goal for club and country. The first 10,000 fans inside the stadium will receive the free giveaway.

On Sunday, the Galaxy will host their annual Season Ticket Member Event at Alpine Village in Torrance. All players and front office staff will be in attendance. Additional details about the event will follow later this week.
