New head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto and the LA Galaxy will begin the season with the 2019 Home Opener, when the Galaxy host Chicago Fire on Saturday, March 2 at 5 p.m. PT. Tickets to that match are on sale now, available here.
head of the team’s 24th season in MLS, new LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese hired Schelotto and re-signed superstar Zlatan Ibrahimović as the Galaxy look to compete for a record 6th MLS Cup. Schelotto and te Kloese also brought back 3-time MLS Cup Champion and fan favorite Juninho, who is set to play alongside some of the league’s top talents in Jonathan dos Santos, Romain Alessandrini and Ola Kamara.
In notable matches, the LA Galaxy will host the first and only California Clásico of the season on Friday, July 12 at Dignity Health Sports Park (8 p.m. PT, UniMas). A week later, the Galaxy will host LAFC in a nationally televised matchup on Friday, July 19 (7 p.m. PT, ESPN).
Western Conference rivals Seattle Sounders will take on LA Galaxy in Los Angeles on Saturday, Aug. 17 (7 p.m. PT, ESPN2). Portland Timbers will visit Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday, March 31 (6 p.m. PT, ESPN2).
